Villa Spaccaforno was built between 1896 and 1897 by the engineer Count Cartier, and is the perfect synthesis of Art Nouveau and Neoclassical style, nearby the beautiful Baroque town of Modica.
The villa is surrounded by a beautiful one hectare garden, built by the current owners, the Barons Bruno Statella already Marquis of Spaccaforno. They have enhanced the few original essences by including the important building in a beautiful Mediterranean garden which has got also a wonderful pool at guests' disposal. The villa is officially listed to the Italian Historic Houses Association.
Pictures of the garden were taken by Mario Ciampi for the publication " Gardens of Sicily ", because it is considered one of the most beautiful open-air places in Sicily. The entire villa was also the set of major Italian TV series and films such as " THE BOSS OF THE BOSSES " and "INSPECTOR MONTALBANO".

Villa Spaccaforno is made up of three apartments: the Yellow House, the House of Venera and the Green Room.

Let yourself be pampered by the warm colors of the Yellow House, the elegant and well- refined apartment with a living room, a kitchen, one bathroom and a large bedroom loft.

If you want to relax with your family, the House of Venera is just right for you. This elegant property, soberly refined, consists of 2 bedrooms, one double and one twin bedroom, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room.

In order to spend a romantic night, you should choose our Green Room, the double room with a private bathroom and a minibar.

Villa Spaccaforno is situated in Modica near the city of Ragusa, which was included in 2002, along with the Val di Noto, in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites for its old town center, full of Baroque architecture. Nearby there are many places of artistic, naturalistic and culinary interest: Ragusa with its Basilica of San Giorgio is an impressive example of Sicilian Baroque; the Villa Comunale or Giardino lbleo is the panoramic viewpoint over both the mountains in front and the Irminio valley below; the small town of Scicli; Pozzalo, the only seaside town in the province of Ragusa to rise above extraordinary sandy beaches.
